'Golden' Greek Youth Water Polo Team on Top of the World (video)

Greece’s youth water polo team climbed at the top of the world after winning Spain 9-8 in the 2018 World Championship final in Hungary on Sunday.
The team of coach Dimitris Kravaritis stunned Spain in Szombathely, Hungary, after beating Serbia in the semi-final on Saturday, and added another gold medal in the series of great successes of Greek athletes this summer.
The Greek teens followed the path of glory that the young men’s water polo team opened last year in Belgrade, Serbia becoming world champions in their category.
The Greek team were really impressive in the second eight, scoring an impressive 4-1, turning the 3-3 score of the first period to a 7-4 and putting a strong foundation for reaching their goal.
The Spaniards came back in the second half and reduced the lead to one goal but Greece responded splendidly with the third eight ending at 9-7 for Greece. All the Spanish team managed in the fourth eight minute period was to reduce the score to 9-8, as the Greek defense was exemplary.
The Greek team managed to snatch the gold medal unbeaten throughout the tournament, becoming water polo Youth World Champion for the first time.
