Greece's Men and Women Water Polo Teams Advance to European Quarterfinals

Greece’s national water polo team has reached the quarterfinals of the European Championships in Barcelona after beating Germany on Sunday, while the women’s team advanced in the last eight of the competition.
After losing to Croatia on Friday, the players of coach Thodoris Vlachos came back and defeated Germany 13-5 in the quarterfinals play-offs. Despite a bad start (0-2), the Greek men reversed the flow of the game and led by 8-3, leaving the Germans way behind.
The Greek team will now face host Spain on Tuesday for a spot in the semifinals.
The women’s team ended up second in its pool, losing to the Netherlands 8-7 on Saturday. However, the Greek women secured a spot in the quarterfinals.
This was the first loss for the women’s team. On Monday (today) they will compete against  Russia for the ticket to the semifinals.
