Mykonos Art Festival Tries to Lure Cultural Tourists

The inaugural Mykonos Art Festival will be held this summer on the popular island of the Cyclades archipelago, known for its vibrant nightlife.
The festival’s aim is the redefinition of the cosmopolitan destination as an important centre for the arts and reference point for connoisseurs of culture, according to the Cultural, Sports and Social Organisation ‘G.Axiotis’ that is organising the festival.
Concerts, art exhibitions, theatre, cinema and gastronomy will feature in the events of the Mykonos Art Festival, which seeks to establish an international profile and become a festival that offers visitors the opportunity to get acquainted with the full range of contemporary art, alongside the cultural heritage of the utopia of Delos.
Eventually, the organisers’ aim is to establish yet another, different incentive for someone to visit Mykonos that is worthy of its tradition.
The festival will begin on June 23 and run throughout the summer until the end of September.
