FYROM to Host 'Macedonia' Deal-Signing Ceremony with Greece

The signing ceremony for the historic agreement between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on the naming dispute will be held north of the border, according to Greek media reports.
Greece’s Kathimerini newspaper reports the ceremony will take place on Sunday at the northern side of Lake Prespa which lies on the frontier between the two countries.
The agreement will be signed by Greek and FYROM Foreign Ministers Nikos Kotzias and Nikola Dimitrov in the presence of Prime Ministers Alexis Tsipras and Zoran Zaev.
Also present will be the UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez and the UN envoy for the naming dispute Matthew Nimetz. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will also attend, as will EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.
The two governments are keen to proceed quickly with the ratification of the agreement by the FYROM parliament before the EU and NATO extend invitations to the country to start accession talks.
