Tina Fey Accepts Broadway.Com Audience Choice Award

Mean Girls Musical

Tina Fey’s musical “Mean Girls” has officially premiered on Broadway, and the musical just won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical.

The actress, producer, and writer accepted the award accompanied by her husband. At the same ceremony, Katharine McPhee won an Audience Choice Award for Favorite Replacement (Female) for her work in the musical “Waitress”.

“Mean Girls” premiered on March 12 and officially opened on April 8. The musical stars Broadway veterans including Taylor Louderman, Erika Henningsen, Ashley Park, Kate Rockwell, and Kyle Selig.

The musical is currently being performed at the Augustus Wilson Theatre in New York City. Tina Fey also wrote the book of the musical, which has been nominated for a Tony. In fact, “Mean Girls” received twelve total Tony nominations, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Taylor Louderman.

We will keep you updated on how “Mean Girls” fares at the Tony awards. However, at the moment, it’s clear that Broadway audiences love Tina Fey’s show.
