Evzones in Sydney for ANZAC Day Ceremonies

The Greek Presidential Guard is in Sydney to take part in the ANZACs Day events and participate in several functions with the Diaspora in Australia.

The Evzones, who are in Australia after a special permission by the President of the Hellenic Republic, were welcomed by Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Christos Karras.

According to SBS, on Wednesday 25 April, at 6:00am the Evzones attended the Dawn Service for the ANZACs Day at Bondi Beach and stood in front of the Cenotaph Monument.

At 11:30, the Greek Presidential Guard took part in the parade through Sydney’s main streets.

On Thursday 26 April, the Evzones will visit the New South Wales Parliament at 2:00pm.

On Friday 27 April at noon, they will be the Honorary Guard at the Martin Place Cenotaph for one hour.

At 3:00pm the Evzones will visit St. Basil’s Greek Nursing Home in Randwick, that belongs to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

On Saturday 28 April, the Greek Presidential Guard will take part in the memorial service at St. Spyridon Greek Church in Kingsford.

At 1:00 pm they will be the Honorary Guard at the Martin Place Cenotaph for one hour.

At 3:00pm, they will take part in the wreath laying ceremony at Macarthur Park in Camden.

On Sunday 29 April, at 8:30am the Evzones will attend the memorial service at St. George Church in Rose Bay.

At 2:00pm the Greek Presidential Guard will parade from North Bondi RSL to the Bondi War Memorial.

The Greek delegation will depart for Athens on Monday April 30.
