Lazaros' Wonder Goal Sets Up AEK-PAOK Cup Final Clash (video)

AEK progressed to the Greek Cup final for the third year in a row with a dramatic winner by Lazaros Christodoulopoulos in the dying seconds against AE Larissa.
Lazaros’ stunning acrobatic volley, already touted by football pundits as goal of the season, was enough to send Manolo Jimenez’s double-chasers, who had lost the first leg 2-1, through on away goals after the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate.
Until the late drama there was little to suggest that AEK, who need just one point from their last three games to be crowned Super League champions, could turn the tie around with Jimenez’s 3-5-2 system not effective on this occasion against a well-drilled Larissa outfit which sensed its big chance.
The final will be a repeat of last year, as AEK will meet PAOK at Athens Olympic Stadium in May.
Last year’s final held in Volos, central Greece, was marred by clashes by rival fans. It was won by PAOK after a controversial refereeing decision.
The Thessaloniki club had an easier task on Tuesday, as it followed up its 3-1 win at Panionios in the first leg of the other semifinal tie with another win by the same score, this time at Toumba on Tuesday.
