Turkey Arrests Gulenist ‘Aboard Greek-Flagged Yacht’

Turkish media report that a FETO-linked suspect was arrested Monday from a Greek-flagged yacht in the Aegean resort town of Marmaris.

Murat Elmas, the 48-year-old Black Sea Samsun region’s imam of the group who is designated in Turkey as terrorist, was arrested along with five more suspects, state-run Anadolu Agency says.

Elmas, was making plans to flee to Greece using fake identity, according to the report.

Turkey accuses FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen of orchestrating the coup of July 15, 2016, which left 250 people dead and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
