Greek Opposition Leads SYRIZA in New Poll

Greece’s main opposition New Democracy party is leading governing SYRIZA by 4.4 percent in a survey by pollsters Kapa Research.
The gap between the two largest parties is considerably narrower that most other surveys have shown recently.
According to the Kapa Research findings published in the Ethnos daily on Tuesday, New Democracy gets 21.6 percent of the voting intentions, followed by SYRIZA on 17.2 percent.
Extreme-right Golden Dawn and the centre-left Movement for Change are tied at third place with 7.8 percent.
The Communist Party follows with 6.3 percent.
No other party gets above the three percent threshold required to get seats in parliament.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has vowed to see out the four-year term in government that ends in September 2019.
Some analysts predict that Tsipras may dissolve parliament and call for new elections much sooner and possibly just after August 2018 when Greece is expected to finally conclude the third bailout program.
