Greece Records €843M Budget Surplus

The Greek state budget recorded a cash surplus of €843 million ($1 billion) in the January-February period this year, from a surplus of €1.592 billion in the corresponding period in 2017, the Bank of Greece said on Monday.
The central bank, in a report, said regular budget spending (including spending of around €30 million for the repayment of state arrears to the private sector) totaled €7.265 billion in the two-month period, down from €7.701 billion in the same period in 2017.
The budget’s primary surplus — central administration — fell to €2 billion in the January-February period, from €3.2 billion in 2017.
