Greek American Foundation Seeks Class of 2018 Achievers

The Greek America Foundation

The Greek America Foundation has opened nominations for their Class of 2018 Forty Under 40, the leading recognition for North Americans of Greek descent, 40 years old and under.

Previous winners have included leading medical researchers, professors, Emmy-Award winning directors and people from various walks of life.

According to the foundation’s website, the awards recognize those individuals who have excelled in their professional endeavors, while simultaneously showing care and concern for the world around them, through philanthropic initiatives.

“Excellence and philanthropy are two ideals espoused in the mission statement of the Greek America Foundation and our Forty Under 40 winners should be the epitome of both,” according to organizers.

The Greek America Foundation first launched the Forty Under 40 Awards in 2010.

Qualifications:

-Sole criteria of awards are the individual’s professional achievement AND philanthropic activity.

-Nominees must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or legal permanent residents of either country, and claim Greek heritage.

-Awards recognize those individuals who are between 17 and 40 years old or younger in calendar year 2017. In other words, if the nominees 17th to 40th birthday falls any time in 2017, he/she qualifies for nomination for the Class of 2018.

To submit a nomination, send an essay NO MORE THAN 1,000 words highlighting why your nominee deserves this distinction. Please include all professional accomplishments, as well as philanthropic endeavors the individual has participated in or supported that will make him/her stand out. You must also include the nominee’s full date of birth, which will be verified if the nomination advances to the final round.

HOW THE FORTY UNDER 40 SELECTIONS ARE MADE:

A special committee is formed of PAST Forty Under 40 winners who review all applications and determine the winners. Winners are determined based on their achievement of excellence and commitment to philanthropy.

*In the Greek America Foundation’s efforts to maintain a fair and impartial selection process, no member of the Greek America Foundation staff or board of directors are included in this completely independent selection process.

Winners will be notified in March 2018 and asked to be present during the Greek America Foundation’s National Innovation Conference and Forty Under 40 Awards weekend in Philadelphia (May 4-6, 2018) where a special awards night will be planned in honor of the Class of 2018.

Deadline for nominations is Feb. 15, 2018.
