Greece's First 6-Star Resort Inspired by Rhodes' History (video)

Rhodes — one of Greece’s most popular vacation spots — is ready to host the country’s first six-star resort which will take its inspiration from the island’s history and culture.
The 1,000-bed investment, commissioned by Bobotis & Bobotis Architects, is expected to be finished this year and is aimed at a target group of visitors who expect all-inclusive, luxury services.
According to Theophanis Bobotis who spoke to Insider.gr, the resort will include villas, luxury suites, executive business suites, family rooms plus superior deluxe, superior and deluxe bedrooms.
The complex will include six restaurants, nine bars, a conference center, a fitness center, an indoor pool, playrooms, a private cinema, a private club and a kids’ club.
In addition, there will be recreation areas, a water park, tennis and basketball courts, mini golf, mini soccer fields and other facilities.

According to Bobotis, the luxury resort will have its own identity but it will retain links with the cultural history of Rhodes:
“In this context, the main idea of the structure and organization of the building complex was based on the castle of Rhodes, which, along with the old town, is the predominant element of the island’s identity.
The main symbolic reference to the castle wall will be a corresponding ‘wall’ inside the resort. A linear water surface will develop, symbolically referring to the castle moat, as well as to the sea that was the platform for the evolution of Greek culture, Bobotis explained.
