Last Orders for Noisy Kolonaki Bars?

The writing could be on the wall for late-night music in Athens’ hip Kolonaki district after a municipal move to curb noise.
Athens Municipality wants cafes and bars to cut their music at midnight on weekdays and Sunday and at 1 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and before public holidays.
The provisional move follows a string of complaints and legal action by residents, upset at the late-night noise.
Although regulation already exists to stop music around 10-11 p.m. the municipality claims 60 percent of businesses in the district have not even applied for a permit to allow music after these times.
