The Oscar nominations for the 90th Annual Academy Awards were announced this Tuesday at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Most of the film community was happy with the nominations list, as there seemed to be no major oversights or snubs this year. The Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 4 at the Dolby Theatre, and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the second time in a row.
Greek-French composer Alexandre Desplat, who won a Golden Globe earlier this month for his original score on “The Shape of Water”, is nominated for an Academy Award for his work as well.
Meanwhile, “Beauty and the Beast”, which was penned by Greek screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos, is up for two Academy Awards for Costume Design and Production Design.
