Greece Announces University Wi-Fi Plan

University students across Greece are to get access to Wi-Fi at their campus accommodation, according to a new government initiative revealed on Friday.
Greek media reported the education ministry had secured funding for the digital project, which would not be paid for by colleges.
Kostas Gavroglou, Greece’s education minister, was quoted by the Kathimerini newspaper as saying the planned five-year roll-out of the project was aimed at “changing the decades-old image of student residences”.
Education has suffered in Greece during the economic crisis. The European University Association estimates that Greece now spends an average of €545 ($666) per student, and halved public spending on third-level education since 2010.
