Mary Katrantzou recently found herself at the Dallas Contemporary in Texas for the first official retrospective exhibit set up in her honor, featuring her designs and creations from the last decade of her career.

Katrantzou, a London-dwelling Greek designer, has risen to prominence not only in the UK fashion scene, but across the world, with many Hollywood actresses and even First Lady Melania Trump favoring her designs for red carpet events and ceremonies.

The retrospective, amusingly named “Mary, Queen of Prints” (a nod to the designer’s well-known work with bold print designs), features 180 pieces and coincides with the date of the designer 10th anniversary in the fashion business.

Walking around the exhibit, you will see mannequins displaying the designer’s work on hexagonal plinths, arranged in a color coordinating pattern. As Katrantzou puts it, “Every look is a puzzle-piece part of a much larger collage”.

The Dallas Contemporary museum actually removed its interior walls so it could fill the wide open space with Katrantzou’s design. If you are in the Dallas area, the exhibit will be up until March 18.
