Two Greek doctors; one specialising in cardiology and the other in oncology, are on this year’s Forbes magazine Top 27 list.

Dr. Stavros G. Drakos; a Greek Cypriot, is one of the 27 best cardiologists in the United States, while Dr. George Raptis is a top oncologist, specialising in breast cancer.

Dr. Drakos is Professor of Cardiology at the University of Utah Medical School and Director of the Cardiac Deficiency, Transplantation and Mechanical Heart Support Program at the University Hospital. He is also visiting professor at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus.

“This distinction reflects the longstanding effort of many people starting from my family to colleagues and colleagues in America, Greece and Cyprus,” Dr. Drakos told Forbes, adding that the provision of high-level medical care requires close contact with the continuing developments in medicine.

Dr. Raptis is Senior Vice President, Cancer Services, of Northwell Health and Acting Executive Director of Northwell Health Cancer Institute. He has developed and led a new multidisciplinary breast center and breast cancer research program.
