Greek Police 'Concerned' over Return of Prominent Radical Fighter from Syria

Greek police have expressed concern at the apparent return of a radical anarchist and member of the Rouvikonas (Rubicon) group from Syria, where he fought on the side of the Kurds against ISIS.
The man known as ‘Ivan the Greek’ has been photographed in various combat zones around the Syrian town of Raqqa, where fierce battles took place against ISIS.

His return to Greece was announced on a pro-Rouvikonas website.
A police source, speaking to Greek daily To Vima, said that the authorities are examining carefully the apparent return of the 34-year old.
The man is known to the police as he has been arrested at least four times for violent acts against prominent targets, before moving to Syria in 2016.
The same source said that police is concerned, given that he has received weapons training and has been apparently involved in actual combat.
