4th International Tourism Expo in Athens

Greek Tourism Expo Athens
This weekend it will be possible to attend the 4th International Tourism Exhibition, Greek Tourism Expo, taking place in Athens, Greece, on the premises of the Metropolitan Expo.
Hundreds of tour operators, local businesses and official representatives of different Greek destinations gather each year in December in order to promote one of the most important industries of the country.
The exhibit, which receives visitors from all over the world, is also an opportunity to promote regions less known in other countries. Alternative touristic proposals are also gaining an increasing interest and can be discovered taking a tour through the different stands.

Gastronomy remains one of the main reasons why people choose Greece as a holiday destination. So, other than staple products such as olive oil and honey, visitors can sample regional ingredients or experience live cooking demonstrations by chefs from all over the country, tasting unique flavors and ingredients. Greek wine tourism is also present in different stands, offering a snapshot of the country’s wines.
Other than gastronomy, it is possible to discover alternative activities such as fishing tours, as well as cycling, hiking and walking tours or cooking lessons. More traditional touristic options, such as yachting and sailing, are also present in the Expo.
The exhibit also allows small local hoteliers to promote private villas, self-catered apartments and boutique hotels to a growing international audience interested in alternative lodging solutions.
This fourth edition of the Greek Tourism Expo will close its doors on Sunday 10 December.
