Greek Woman Faces Life Imprisonment for Drug Trafficking in Hong Kong (video)

A 19-year-old Greek woman was arrested at Hong Kong’s international airport and charged with possession of 2.6 kilos of cocaine.
Irene Melissaropoulou; a model from Lesvos, remains in custody and will appear in court on February 14.

According to Hong Kong laws, drug trafficking is a serious crime punishable by a fine of around 640,000 US dollars and life imprisonment.
In a statement, the girl’s father, who is a police officer in Lesvos, says he is shocked by the news of his daughter’s arrest, and claims that she has fallen victim of drug traffickers who have exploited her dream of making a career in modelling.
