Greece's Win for World Cup Qualifiers Marred by Brutal Beating of Fan (video)

Greece’s win against Gibraltar at Georgios Karaiskakis stadium on Tuesday, was marred by the brutal beating of a fan who was wearing a Panathinaikos shirt.
It was around the 70th minute of the game when several fans wearing hoods spotted the man who was wearing the green shirt and attacked him. The man was violently beaten repeatadly by numerous perpetrators, who took off his shirt and finally threw him in the pitch.
The man received many kicks and blows in the head. The assault was recorded by the side cameras of Skai television that were broadcasting the match and was shown in the post-game report.
The Greek national soccer team won 4-0 and is waiting for the drawing that would determine its opponent for the two-leg playoff game that could lead to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.
