Chairman of Greek Public Broadcaster ERT Resigns

Dionysis Tsaknis, the chairman of ERT; the Greek Public Broadcaster, has resigned from his post following speculation of an argument with the newly appointed CEO Kostopoulos.
Tsaknis was appointed to his post in May 2015, by the SYRIZA-led government.
According to reports, there were constant disagreements and clashes on policy and administrative issues between Tsaknis and Kostopoulos.
Tsaknis, a former successful singer and songwriter, was expecting to get support from the government regarding his dispute with the CEO, which he felt he did not receive.
Greek media speculate that his departure will signal a new round of uncertainty with ERT, until the government finds an appropriate replacement.
