Former Hellinikon Airport Not Forest Land, says Technical Committee

A 3.7-hectare expanse within the site of former Athens international airport at Hellinikon, is not forest land, according to a decision reached by the Piraeus Technical Committee for Examining Disputes on Monday.
The decision was on a case brought before the committee by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) and Helliniko SA, objecting to a decision by the Piraeus forestry agency to designate the site as forest land, which created obstacles to investment plans on the Hellinikon site.
