A fire that broke out in the Karoussi region of Kalavryta, in Peloponnese, on Tuesday afternoon is burning forest land, without threatening any houses.
The blazes expanded quickly in an ineccessible area of ravines, forcing the Fire Department to send four firefighting airplanes and two helicopters.
At present time, 31 firefighters with 15 vehicles and 12 volunteers are operating on the ground.
A fire that broke out on Taygetos mountain early in the morning on Tuesday is still in progress, but it is under control, as the Fire Department has announced.
