Agricultural Production Minister Vangelis Apostolou reiterated on Friday the government’s intention to abolish an excise tax on wine by the end of the year, saying it failed to produce the expected revenues.
Speaking during a visit to a winery in the town of Aghialos, near Volos, Apostolou said the government is now looking for an equivalent to replace it. The tax was introduced in January 2016.
