Friday’s UEFA Europa League draw for the group stage, paired AEK Athens with Italian side AC Milan, one of European football’s powerhouses.
AEK Athens have been drawn alongside AC Milan, Austria Vienna, Rijeka and in the Europa League group stage.
The Serie A side, in Group D, are competing in their first European campaign since the 2013-14 season.
With 18 officially recognised UEFA and FIFA titles, they are the fourth most successful club in the world and the most successful Italian club at international level, having secured 7 UEFA Champions League titles in the past.
Elsewhere, Atalanta were pitted against Lyon, Everton and Cyprus’ Apollon Limassol in Group E, and Lazio were drawn against Nice, Zulte Waregem and Vitesse Arnhem in Group K.
