Greek Woman Injured in Barcelona Terrorist Attack in Critical Condition

The Greek woman who was injured in Thursday’s terrorist attack in Barcelona is in critical condition after undergoing a seven-hour surgery, a Skai television report said.
Theoni Zissimopoulou, secretary of honorary consul of Greece in the Spanish city, reported that she contacted the Greek consulate and was informed that the woman’s husband said that their two children were also injured in the attack.
However, the report said that according to the Greek embassy in Spain the woman has German nationality and she is married to a Greek, while their two children have dual nationality, Greek and German.
Relatives of the woman who spoke of Skai argued that the woman’s father is German, but she is Greek, and that her two children were injured in the assault, but both suffered minor wounds and their condition is not serious. However,the relatives expressed their agony and worry about the woman’s life.
Catalonia authorities announced officially that the number of dead is 14 and the injured exceed 130. The victims are of at least 24 different nationalities, as La Rambla is the busiest tourist street in the city.
