Parliament Debate on Kammenos Case Postponed for September

The debate to set up a Parliamentary Examining Committee to investigate issues relating to the involvement of Defense Minister Panos Kammenos and other officials in a pending legal case was postponed after the deadly earthquake in Kos.
Kammenos has been accused of meddling into a high-profile drug trafficking case through numerous phone calls with convict Makis Yiannousakis.
The decision to postpone the debate was taken by Parliament President Nikos Voutsis following contact with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and a request of New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
According to reports, the debate will now take place after the Summer Parliamentary Recess in late August or early September.
