Greek PM Starts Campaign to Give Positive Spin on Eurogroup Deal

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday starts a tour of regions in order to speak about the positive aspects of the June 15 Eurogroup agreement and its impact on the Greek economy.
The tour will follow the disbursement of the 7.7 billion euros loan tranche by the European Stability Mechanism, 6.9 billion of which will go for loan repayments while the remaining 800 million euros will be used to repay state debts to individuals.
After the disbursement, the narrative of the tour will be the government’s focus on growth. In the Kozani conference, that will be held Monday and Tuesday, the prime minister will outline the economic plan that would boost the economy in Greece’s regions.
According to a Maximos Mansion source, Tsipras has briefed his ministers and MPs to communicate the government plan to reboot the economy, attract new investments and complete existing ones. The prime minister has asked all top officials to give the Greek public the idea that the government is active in implementing the growth plan.
“By the end of the year, we must have results that point to an increase in gross domestic product, an increase that must continue in 2018,” the government official said.
