Maria Menounos Steps Down From ‘E! News’ After Brain Tumor Removal

Maria Menounos has issued a statement that she will be stepping down from “E! News”, where she has worked for the past three years, after she recovered from a 7-hour surgery to remove a brain tumor doctors had recently discovered.

Strangely enough, Maria’s mother, Litsa Menounos, is also currently battling brain cancer, though her struggle is far from over.

Maria Menounos assured her fans on Instagram that she was fully recovered, insisting that “I want you all to know that I’m ok! Seriously I’m recovering well and should be as good as new very very soon!”

She also reminded her audience to keep her mother, who was featured in the Instagram post, in their prayers.

The former E! host went on to express many thanks and gratitude to the medical staff that had taken care of her at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Menounos’ diagnosis was made in April. The recent surgery removed almost the entire tumor. You can see the Instagram post in which she opened up about her surgery, her mother’s condition, and her experience in Cedars-Sinai below.

First I wanna say thank you all for the well wishes, prayers and support. It's been a crazy time here in our home. I want you all to know that I'm ok! Seriously I'm recovering well and should be as good as new very very soon! Luckily I don't need any further treatments but I can't say the same about my mom. So please keep her in your prayers. And lastly, god has blessed me in so many ways but this too was a blessing. I got to hear what I have meant to my friends and family-it's been quite moving for me.
