4.1 Richter Earthquake Near Thebes Felt in Athens


At approximately 4:54 pm on Sunday the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported an earthquake registering 4.1 Richter jolted Thebes, just north of Athens. The Geodynamic Institute of Athens said that the earthquake registered at 3.8 Richter.
The earthquake occurred 6 kilometers north of Thebes and had a focal depth of just 10 kilometers, geophysics.geol.uoa.gr reported.
The quake was felt as far away as the Athens’ southern suburb of Tzitzifies over 55 kilometers from the focal point.
