Turkish Fighter Jets Enter Greek Airspace 48 Hours After PM Yildirim Departs


Forty-eight hours after Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim’s visit and his provocative statements about the violations in the Aegean, Turkish fighters entered Greek airspace on Wednesday morning.
More specifically, a pair of Turkish F-4s entered Athens FIR without submitting a flight plan. At 11:15 in the morning and at 11:39 the aircraft flew over Makronissi and Anthropophagous of the island complex of Fourni at 10,000 feet, according to Greek authorities.
The Turkish aircraft, which were identified and intercepted by Greek fighters, left the Athens FIR at 11:50 am, according to the Athens News Agency.
