Study Shows Financial Crisis Contributing to Greek Youth Delaying Marriage

A study conducted by In4Youth has shown that young Greeks are delaying marriage due to the financial crisis.
Many youth cannot afford to live on their own, the study revealed, forcing them to continue living with their parents and making marriage an impossible option.
Also, the stress that the crisis has put on Greek youth’s finances was highlighted by the 87 percent of those surveyed, who said that they were disappointed with the actions taken by Greece’s Parliament and only 13 percent said that they trust the country’s political system.
The survey conducted revealed that less than 10 percent of Greeks aged between 25 and 29 are married while less than 36 percent are married between the ages of 30 to 34. Furthermore, over half of those surveyed who were under 30 years-old still live at home with their parents, mostly due to finances.
