One Woman Dead in Wildfire Near Corinth

A wildfire that broke out on Sunday in a forest area in the Aghioi Theodoroi area, near Corinth, left one woman dead.
The blaze reached a residential area, burning one house completely and damaging another. Gusty winds were blowing in the area for hours.
A total 32 fire engines with 70 crew members, 37 firefighters on foot and six firefighting aircraft battled the blaze until it was contained.
Later in the evening a body was found in a ravine outside the town of Aghioi Theodoroi, 65 kilometers west of Athens. The body was burned so badly that fire officials could not identify the sex of the victim. Authorities believe it is the body of an elderly woman who was reported missing.
