Bavarian FinMin: Greece Will Not Last in Euro Zone

Greece will not last in the euro zone in the long run and Athens should prepare for such a possibility, Bavarian Finance Minister Markus Soeder told the Handelsblatt newspaper, in an interview published on Tuesday.
The conservative politician spoke in light of the stalled negotiations between Greece and its international creditors over the bailout program review.
“Greece is unlikely to survive in the euro zone over the long term,” Soeder said, while he suggested that Greek authorities should come up with an alternative plan.
“We’ll see if Greece meets the conditions. I’m very skeptical,” the Bavarian finance minister said, while he underlined the importance of the International Monetary Fund participation in the bailout program.
In the past, Soeder has often accused Greece of failing to fulfill its bailout program obligations.
