More Turkish Provocations in Aegean as Jet Fighters Enter Greek Airspace

Seven Turkish aircraft violated Greek airspace on Wednesday, with four of them being armed fighter jets and three CN-235 spying planes.
This was the latest one in a series of provocations following a Greek Supreme Court decision to not extradite eight Turkish army officers who sought political asylum after the failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15.
The armed Turkish fighter aircraft violated Greek airspace repeatedly flying over Farmakonisi in the south Aegean. Overall, the Turkish aircraft violated Greek airspace in 25 cases, while seven violations of the Athens FIR were recorded.
Of the seven aircraft, four were armed and flew in pairs. Three more Turkish spy-type CN-235 violated Greek territory in the northeast, central and southeast Aegean.
The Turkish aircraft were intercepted in accordance with international regulations.
