Eurogroup's Dijsselbloem: No IMF in Greek Bailout, No Netherlands

Only one day after Eurogroup’s Jeroen Dijsselbloem stated that the IMF’s take on the Greek debt was “unnecessarily Pessimistic,” the finance minister warned that without the Fund’s participation in the Greek bailout, the Netherlands would also withdraw.
He stated that the Dutch Parliament was quite clear in its decision to bow out of the program should the IMF withdraw its funding and stressed that the Germany will not remain on board either.
The warning of the Dutch finance minister shouldn’t come as a surprise since it isn’t the first time he commented similarly. Arriving at a meeting with eurozone finance ministers back in May 2016, to mend the rift between Europe and the International Monetary Fund over how to proceed with Greece’s bailout, he commented “it’s not an option to go on without the IMF.”
