Adele Exarchopoulos Cast in ‘The White Crow’

Adele Exarchopoulos has just been cast in a new movie, “The White Crow”, to be directed by Ralph Fiennes.

She will be starring along Oleg Ivenko and Sergei Polunin in the movie, which is based on the life of Rudolf Nureyev, a ballet dancer and Soviet defector who left the USSR in 1961. Adele will play Clara Saint, a friend of Nureyev’s who helped with his choreography.

Ralph Fiennes has been thrilled with the story and script for some time. The actor and director told “Screen Daily” that to him, “[‘The White Crow’] is equally, a tale about the life and ballet culture [Nureyev] left behind in Russia.”

The Greek-French Exarchopoulos, who rose to fame with her mesmerizing performance in “Blue is the Warmest Color”, has been staying busy with highly acclaimed projects over the last few years. She just finished filming the French-language “Racer and the Jailbird”, which has high hopes for the Cannes Film Festival this year, and will be starting production on “The White Crow” this summer.
