Varoufakis Calls on PM Tspiras to Ditch Bailout Restructuring

Yanis Varoufakis wrote in an op-ed in Efimerida ton Syntakton on Saturday. The former finance minister called on Prime Minister Alexis Tspiras to adopt a plan originally proposed by Varoufakis while he was still in office.
The plan would unilaterally restructure the loans the European Central Bank holds. In addition according to BitCoin MagazineĀ and reiterated inĀ the former FM’s op-ed aĀ payment system that could operate in euros but which could be changed into drachmas ā€œovernightā€ if necessary would be implemented along with a parallel payment system.
ā€œThis two-pronged preparation is the only way to prevent another excruciating retreat by the prime minister in the short-term and [German Finance Minister Wolfgang] Schaeubleā€™s plan in the long-term,ā€ Varoufakis wrote.
VaroufakisĀ has been a vocal protester to Greek bailout plans and restructuring as it stands now, hence his resignation. He firmly believes that the current plan could lead to Greece leaving the Eurozone of their own accord.
