Tina Fey Pens Tribute to Carrie Fisher

Tina Fey wrote a touching tribute to her friend and former co-worker Carrie Fisher in “Time” magazine, praising the recently deceased actress’ “razor-sharp wit”.

After her star turn as Princess Leia in the original “Star Wars”, Fisher had taken on some film and TV roles including a guest spot on Fey’s “30 Rock”, in which Fey played the memorable character Liz Lemon. Fisher earned her first Emmy nomination playing Rosemary Howard, a childhood idol of Liz Lemon’s who turned out to be crazy.

Fisher died of a heart attack on December 27th at 60 years old, a day before her mother, Debbie Reynolds, also passed away.

Tina Fey’s full statement is below:

“Carrie Fisher meant a lot to me. Like many women my age, Princess Leia occupies about sixty percent of my brain at any given time. But Carrie’s honest writing and her razor-sharp wit were an even greater gift. I feel so lucky that I got to meet her. I’m very sad she is gone”.
