Brazilian authorities arrested the wife of Greece’s Ambassador to Brazil and three other men for the murder of the diplomat, who was found burnt in a rental car on Thursday.
According to O ‘Globo, after the arrest of Françoise Amiridis, wife of ambassador Kyriakos Amiridis, the prosecutor asked for the arrest of three men allegedly linked to the murder: police officer Sergio Gomes Moreira Filho, claiming to be the lover of Amiridis’ wife, and two accomplices of his.
Earlier, detectives had found blood on a couch inside the Rio de Janeiro home where the diplomat and his Brazilian wife lived. Investigator Giniton Lages said that authorities believe the ambassador’s body was taken from the house to the car he had rented.
The ambassador’s charred body was found on Thursday evening inside the rental car. The 59-year-old ambassador was on Christmas leave.
