Turkish Military Plane Violates Greek Airspace in Low Fly Over of Islet of Panagia

Tuesday morning a Turkish CN235 entered Greek airspace and descended to the low altitude of just 30 meters as it flew over the islet of Panagia, part of the Oinousses island cluster east of the Greek island of Chios.
This was the second consecutive day of illegal fly overs as on Monday two pairs of Turkish F-4 fighter jets entered Greek airspace and flew between the eastern Aegean islands of Lesvos and Chios.
The incidences of Turkey violating Greek airspace have increased over the past months as tensions between the countries have risen following Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan saying that the Lausanne Treaty is subject to negotiation.
