Greece Is Top Pick for Armenian Tourists in 2016

According to the ministry of economic development and investments, Armenians increased their tourism abroad from January to September 2016 by 3 percent year-to-year.
The interim chairperson of Armenian state tourism, Zarmine Zeytuntsyan, told the Armenian News Agency that the preference of Armenians is countries along the sea, including Greece among the top picks for vacation destinations in 2016.
“…Georgia is the closest and most affordable. It doesn’t require a visa…In addition to Georgia, Armenian tourists mainly prefer Greece, Egypt, Spain,” Zeytuntsyan told Armenpress.
Zeytuntsyan also noted that Armenian tourists are looking for more than just beautiful beaches along the sea while on vacations and that they want to experience history and culture as well.
