On On Tuesday, November 22, officials announced that the trials of dozens of individuals suspected in the Siemens cash-for-contracts trial is set to begin on February 24, 2017.
The case initiated this summer but soon after was postponed due to French and Greek-speaking defendants requesting that the 4,500 pages of charges be translated into their native languages. The finished translations are due before the newly scheduled date.
The case involves claims that the Greek branch of Siemens had bribed local authorities and politicians in exchange for state contracts.
