Mini Eurogroup on Greek Debt Likely to Convene on Another Date

The report says that the meeting would bridge the gap between German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and the IMF is likely to happen before the December 5 Eurogroup.
Schaeuble believes that debt relief measures would be counter-productive at present. However, the Fund considers debt easing a prerequisite for its participation in the remaining of Greece’s bailout program.
The so-called Washington Group to discuss the participation of the IMF in Greece’s bailout program is composed of the finance ministers of Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands and Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsellbloem. On behalf of the European Central Bank and the European Stability Mechanism, respectively, Benoit Cœuré and Klaus Regling will be present. The IMF will be represented by Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
