Institutions Leave Athens With Many Critical Issues Unresolved

troikaToday Greek officials reported that talks between foreign envoys representing the institutions of the latest bailout review and Greek government concluded without the parties reaching a concrete agreement regarding the fiscal gap, non-performing loans (NPLS), energy and other fiscal issues.
The meetings concluded at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The envoys are now set to return to their respective countries with the above critical issues still unresolved, leaving them to continue talks via teleconferences.
There was however, some progress made regarding the joint collection of taxes and contributions which is set to be reviewed and refined in an agreement to be reached at a later time between the Ministry of Labor and the General Secretariat of Public Revenue, officials reported.
Sources say that the December 5 Eurogroup meeting is still the set deadline for reaching a political agreement between Greece and the institutions.
