According to the report 2016 Eurobarometer Survey on Media Pluralism and Democracy, Greeks have very little to no trust in the national media.
The data revealed that only 26 percent of the country’s population finds the national media trustworthy.
Also addressed in the report is the fact that there are around 87 percent of Greeks who do not believe that their national media sources are free from political and commercial pressures, compared to the rest of the EU bloc, which comes to an average of 57 percent of skeptics.
The report by Eurobarometer found that when looking for a reliable news source, 44 percent of Greeks turn to radio media and 38 percent turn to social media outlets.
