President Obama: There's Progress on Greek Economy But There's Work Ahead

pavloGreece is on the right path on restoring the economy but there are still challenges ahead, U.S. President Barack Obama said during his meeting with President of the Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
“We are glad that the situation in Greece is improving, although we recognize that there are still challenges ahead and some road way to cover,” the U.S. President said.
The U.S. President also referred to the need for equal opportunities for all people and to ensure that this applies to young people as well.
Barack Obama also congratulated the Greek people for the compassion they showed during the refugee crisis stressing that it is important not a single country is left alone to lift all the weight of this challenge and everyone must participate in addressing this issue.
On terrorism, Mr. Obama expressed his appreciation of the U.S. government for its cooperation in the Aegean. “We consider very important the strong links between NATO, Greece and the U.S.A. I want to express my appreciation to the Greek people for this alliance,” he said.
