Adecco Releases 'Employability in Greece 2016' Survey Showing Gap Between Skill Set and Demand

jobsAdecco staffing agency recently released data from their survey, Employability in Greece 2016 which examined the skills set that young entrepreneurs posses in comparison to what employers are looking for when hiring.
According to 7 out of 10 entrepreneurs, the Greek education system falls short in offering the country’s young workforce the skill sets needed to be competitive in the hiring market, the survey revealed.
The numbers released in the survey showed that only 44 percent of firms surveyed found qualified candidates applying for positions available.
Another interesting point is that much of the qualified workforce has started seeking employment abroad as the salaries in Greece have been slashed so drastically under austerities and employment in the country is not very stable. Data shows that three out of 10 people in Greece who are seeking employment are looking abroad. This number has increased 2.5 percent from last year.
