New Expanded Cabinet Sworn In in Greece

orGreece’s new, expanded cabinet as decided by Friday’s government reshuffle was sworn in before President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Presidential Mansion.
Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras signaled he would continue on the fiscal course agreed with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
“We have the opportunity for a fresh start that will give us the necessary impetus for the last critical steps of a marathon leading us to brighter days,” Tsipras said.
In the presence of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the new cabinet consists of 18 ministries and 49 ministers, including the prime minister. A total of 32 ministers were sworn in because they are either new or changed portfolios. Of the 32, only 10 gave a religious oath, while 22 gave a political oath.
